Fleet managers conference a success - 26/11/2007Fleet managers have met with road safety chiefs at a conferenced organised by charity Brake last week.
Best of the Best, held at Birmingham's National Motorcycle Museum, was attended by around 150 managers.
The aim of the meeting was to raise awareness of road safety issues among fleets - a move which might lead to a reduction in work-related car crashes and, consequently, accident claims.
Road safety minister Jim Fitzpatrick MP delivered the keynote speech, and spoke of his support for charities such as Brake.
Speaking after the close of the conference, head of education at the charity Jools Townsend commented: This years Best of the Best Conference was a real success, with industry leaders and fleet safety experts speaking on a range of essential topics.
"It was inspiring to hear from organisations that have introduced forward-thinking fleet safety policies and procedures, and with real results in terms of tackling work-related crashes and making our roads safer.
"We hope it will encourage other fleet professionals to engender change within their organisations and help save lives."
