Woman pays compensation in glass attack - 26/11/2007A Swindon woman has been ordered to pay compensation following her involvement in a pub glass fight last December.
Kerry Ward must pay Jayne Hampson £350 in compensation after throwing three glasses at her.
The victim had been arguing with Ms Ward's younger sister while drinking at the Three Brewers in Corsham, the Gazette and Herald reports.
Prosecuting lawyer Colin Meeke said: "For reasons no doubt lost in the mist of time there was antipathy between these factions.
"There was a scuffle between two of them, not the two involved in this, a few minutes before this. Rude words, insults and a few blows were exchanged."
Ms Hampson suffered minor injuries in the attack.
Defence lawyer Alex Daymond told Swindon crown court that Ms Ward, a mother of three, was "very protective" of her family.
Judge Douglas Field termed her behaviour in the "general melee" as "silly and dangerous".
