Arm Injury Claims

Severe arm injuries

£52,500 - £71,500

This compensation bracket would apply to people who just fall short of being amputated. They would still be extremely serious injuries and leave the person in a similar state as having the arm taken off, for example a case of very bad brachial plexus injury.

Injuries which result in permanent and substantial disablement

£21,500 - £33.000

This would be serious fractures of one or both arms leaving the claimant with permanent disability whether it's functional or cosmetic. The claimant would be compensated accordingly to the severity of their injuries.

Less severe arm injuries

£10,500 - £21,500

This would be when having significant disability there would be a degree of recovery which would have taken place or is expected to take place in the future.

Simple Fractures of the forearm

£3,650 - £10,500

This amount of compensation would be rewarded to uncomplicated fractures which would make a complete recovery. The amount of compensation rewarded would be on the length of the injury. A short time of injury would receive around £3,650 in compensation. Injuries which result in residual disability would get the upper mark of the compensation stated above.

Elbow Injury Claims

Injuries to the elbow

A severe injury which would be disabling £21,500 - £30,000

Less severe injuries

£8,750 - £17,500

To fall into this bracket your injuries must cause impairment of function but not involve major surgery or make you significantly disabled.

Moderate to minor elbow injury

up to £7,000

Most claimants injuries fall into this category. This would cover simple elbow fractures, tennis elbow syndrome and lacerations. These are all injuries which would not cause permanent damage or cause a permanent impairment of functions.

Wrist Injury Claims

Wrist Injuries

£26,250 - £33,000

This would be a complete loss of function with your wrist or writs, for example where an arthrodesis has been performed.

£10,500 - £21,500

This amount of compensation would be when the claimant suffers significant permanent disability but still has some movement within their wrist.

£6,750 - £13,500

This bracket would be towards people who suffer from less severe injuries but still result in some permanent disability, for example a degree of persisting pain and stiffness.

Up to £2,500

Very minor fractures which would need the application of bandages and plasters, which would normally recover within a year (minimum time of recovery must be a month).

Finger Injury Claims

Finger Injury

Severe fracture to fingers up to £20,000

This may lead to amputation and result in deformity, loss of grip and a reduced amount of function.

Total loss of index finger around £10,000

Partial loss of index finger

£6,500 - £10,000

This bracket of compensation would also cover disfigurement and loss of grip.

Fracture of index finger

£5,000 - £6,500

This would be where the fracture has mended but the grip is still impaired and where pain is still very heavy.

Total loss of middle finger

around £8,500

Amputation of little finger

£4,750 - £6,500

Loss part of little finger

£2,500 - £3,250

This would be when grip is still a problem.

Loss of thumb

£19,500 - £30,000
