Hand Injury Claims
The hands play a very important part of the upper body so the functionality of them is very important. The loss of a hand is compensated not far from the loss of the arm itself. The upper end of any compensation bracket would be appropriate where the injury is to the dominant hand.

The total loss of both hands
£75,000 - £110,000
This is the most serious end of the injury compensation, extensive damage to the hands making them more than useless. If there was little movement then you would be compensated more towards the bottom end of the compensation bracket shown above.
When both hands have serious damage
£30,000 - £46,500
These would be injuries which result in permanent cosmetic disability to loss of function in both hands.
Total or effective loss of one hand
£52,500 - £60,000
The hand which is injured would make the difference of getting the top end of the compensation of the lower end. If the hand is the dominant one then you are more likely to get the top end of the compensation rewarded to you.

Serious hand injuries
£16,000 - £34,000
These types of injuries would be by having the injured hand performing to a reduced 50 per cent capacity. Several fingers would have been amputated but rejoined leaving it clawed, clumsy and unsightly. Also when after surgery you are limited or a total loss of grip.
Less serious injuries
£8,000 - £16,000
This would be compensation for severe crush injuries resulting in significant impaired function without future surgery.

Moderate hand injury
£3,500 - £7,250
Crush injuries and soft tissue type lacerations, for the top end of the compensation bracket your surgery would have failed leaving you permanently disabled.

Minor hand injuries
up to £2,500
This would be injures that are less serious than the ones stated above with complete recovery after months (minimum injury time must be a month).
