Playing the Level Field Yorkshire Police Crack Down on Uninsured Drivers - 20/02/2008Playing the Level Field: Yorkshire Police Crack Down on Uninsured Drivers
Being involved in a car accident can has to top the list of the most bothersome events to befall someone in their daily business. The sheer hassle of obtaining the details of the other driver involved; taking the car to the garage to get repaired as well as actually making the claim itself can be a soul destroying task. But what if the other driver was driving without insurance? The problem is multiplied infinitely.
Yorkshire police have other ideas. Sick of some postcodes having as many as 50% of vehicles on the roads without insurance, they have been given new powers to crush offending drivers' cars. The trend for this to happen is already on the increase: between 2006 and 2007, over 72,000 more vehicles were taken off the road.
The news will be of great relief to drivers concerned that their car insurance could prove less than useful in the event of an accident. With these measures in place, the world of car accident claims could be a much fairer place.
