Making a claim when being a pedestrian
Many pedestrians do get hurt during a car accident, getting hit by a car or vehicle is the most common type of pedestrian accident. All pedestrians can claim compensation from the driver responsible. The following is a checklist that needs to be done at the scene of the accident:
- Make sure that you get all the drivers details, name, address, contact number and insurance number.
- Get as many eye witness statements as possible.
- Have police attend the scene of the accident and make sure you get their police id and reference number. The report will act as a piece of evidence during the car accident compensation claim.
- Show your injuries to a doctor as soon as possible. If your local doctor is closed visit the local hospital or a walk in centre and get the injuries look too.
Once the checklist has been ticked off or you are having difficulties in meeting all requirements call one of our claims advisors and they will be able to help (all our advice is totally free).

Do I have to pay for the claim?
All our personal injury claims are handled under a no win no fee * policy which is totally free to start. With our policy you do not have to pay any amount towards starting the claim or losing the claim. All our accident claims services are absolutely free; we guarantee that you get 100% of the compensation rewarded to you for your injuries.
What evidence do you need to provide?
The no win no fee * policy requires three elements to be satisfied which are quantum, liability and limitation. Our accident claims solicitors would advise you towards gathering all the information needed in order to satisfy the three requirements. The claimant must have adequate evidence to back up each requirement which will be used in the claims proceeding.
- Quantum is the severity of the injury sustained from the car accident. Many claimants do suffer a huge amount of pain for a very long time even after the compensation is paid out but this is accounted for when the compensation is rewarded to the claimant. The injury must be present for at least four weeks for it to be a claim.
- Liability is evidence to prove that the third party was to blame for the car accident.
- Limitation is the time period you have to make a compensation claim. The law states that you must process your claim within three years from the caraccident occurring.
